What Makes Us Different

Why Our Care is Different

We are proud to offer a collaborative care model between obstetrics and midwifery which means that we can offer our patients the best of both worlds. We believe education is the best preventative medicine, and we offer childbirth education and prenatal breastfeeding classes to help prepare families for their journeys into parenthood.

In a health care system that leaves much to be desired, our office has adapted a model of care that enables us to  lead with an education forward approach by integrating group prenatal classes into your routine prenatal care. These classes are all led by Dr. Adrouny and feature guest speakers, including but not limited to:

  • Lactation specialists
  • Pelvic floor physical therapist
  • Nutritionist
  • Pediatricians
  • Anesthesiologists
  • Mental health specialists
  • Labor and delivery nurses
  • Education
  • Group classes
  • Community collaboration
  • Postpartum support/lactation care
  • Collaborative care with an OB/midwife

Collaborative care between obstetrics and midwifery means that we can offer our patients the best of both worlds. Our midwife is also an international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) who can provide families with prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding support.

We take pride in collaborating with other members of the perinatal community. We share a philosophy that the transition to parenthood requires a village, and we strive to help our patients find support within the community. This allows us to provide our patients with the resources they need and have an ongoing relationship with those community members to ensure the best patient outcomes.

We provide group prenatal care which enables us to offer education in a setting with other families at similar points in pregnancy. Group prenatal care is a proven way to improve connections between families as they receive in-depth education and support. According to ACOG, research shows that those who take part in group prenatal care:

  • Have higher satisfaction in prenatal care
  • Lower rates of preterm birth
  • Have decreased numbers of visits to the ER during the 3rd trimester
